Knicks Add Derrick Brown, Look to Bring Back Jared Jeffries to Revamp Roster The Knicks continue to revamp their roster with the new addition of former Bobcats forward Derrick Brown and have plans to retain Jared Jeffries once he clears waivers on Tuesday. The New York Times has reported that Brown was waived last Thursday to clear out a few roster spots to complete trades with Oklahoma City and Portland. Appearing in 41 games this season, the 23-year-old averaged 3.7 points and 2.1 rebounds. The Knicks traded Jeffries to the Houston Rockets midway through the 2009-10 season, after starting 37 games in New York. Knicks head coach Mike D'Antoni indicated that Jeffries could resume his starting duties once he readjusts to the team's system."We just think that he'll pick back up right where he left off," D'Antoni told the Times. "He knows the system, and to put him in with the group will take two seconds."Brown and hopefully Jeffries will join new teammates Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups on Wednesday against the New Orleans Hornets after the Knicks play in Orlando tonight.Observations: Derrick Brown coming back? The Bobcats won't know if they can re-sign forward Derrick Brown (waived to help facilitate Thursday's trades) until at least Tuesday. That's when he would clear waivers, according to the Bobcats.I'm told the Bobcats filed the paperwork to waive Mo Peterson, so that should become official today. They'll hold off on waiving Sean Marks, since he'd somewhat serve as insurance should center Joel Przybilla's knee act up.When the Magic put Michael Jordan up on the scoreboard (he was sitting along the baseline with his sons), he was labeled "general manager'' rather than owner.Click to learn more...Jordan was at the Central Florida game Saturday night, watching son Marcus play. He's UCF's leading scorer. This new Magic arena is cavernous; it's more the size of an NFL stadium than an NBA building. It took Przybilla a second to commit his first foul as a Bobcat. It's no fun guarding Dwight Howard with two good knees, and Przybilla is down to one.source :http://www.nesn.com/2011/03/new-york-knicks-adds-derrick-brown-and-keeps-jared-jeffries.htmlhttp://www.newsobserver.com/2011/02/28/1019504/observations-derrick-brown-coming.htmlRelated searches:jared jeffries, troy murphy, mike bibby, leon powe, mike bibby heat
