Bob Christo passes away

Bob Christo passes away: Bob Christo, the white face of villains in Bollywood movies, passed away in Bangalore on Sunday afternoon. He was 70. You might remember Bob Christo as the gora baddie Mr. Wolcott whom the idol of Lord Hanuman (aided by the invisible Anil Kapoor) thrashed so soundly in the 1987 movie Mr. India. In his more than two decades of acting career in Hindi films, Bob gave us many an entertaining moment. Bob, an Australian, had been inactive since 2003 but he made Bangalore his home. On Saturday he complained of chest pain and suffered a heart attack. He was rushed to the Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology in Bangalore. On Sunday he died of cardiac rupture. According to hospital sources, one of the arteries had 90 percent block. Bob entered Hindi film industry in 1980 with the film Abdullah, directed by Sanjay Khan. Condoling Bob's death, Farah Ali Khan tweeted, "Received some sad news today. Actor Bob Christo who worked in my dad's film Abdullah passed away in Bangalore today." During the 23 years of his acting career, Bob Christo acted in a number of films including Agneepath, Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Qurbani, Sarfarosh and Kismat. His last role was in the lesser-known film Aman Ke Farishtey. Farewell Bob. And rest in peace.
